Frequently Asked Questions


Yes, you can choose either in-person sessions at the office in Columbia, MD or virtual sessions online. Virtual therapy is conducted via a secure video link and offers flexibility to meet from wherever you are.

The intake session is your first opportunity to share about yourself in a brave space. It’s also commonly referred to as an information gathering session, which means I will ask questions to help me get to know you. During our session you’ll have the opportunity to share about what you’ve been experiencing.

Typical therapy sessions are about 50–60 minutes long. This gives us time to explore what’s on your mind while respecting your schedule and energy.

Clinicians on our team at Wellness Space Counseling accept Aetna and Kaiser Permanente insurance plans. Please inquire for current availability and accepted providers. Christine Highfill, LCPC and Practice Owner, is a private pay provider and does not accept insurance.
